What is HUBOL?

Skeli made a utility called "Dynamic Pokemon Expansion" (DPE) that adds all pokemon through gen 8. He also made a utility called "Complete FireRed Upgrade" (CFRU) that adds battle mechanics through gen 8, including the Physical/Special Split, Hidden Abilities, Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, and Dynamax.

Leon made a distribution that includes these (Leon's Base) along with items and some other changes.

Haven created an unofficial build of all of these together as a single UPS patch, and added capabilities for HMA to read the data from the rom and make it editable.

Using Haven's Unofficial Build of Leon's DPE/CFRU Rombase (HUBOL DPE/CFRU, or just hubol for short), you can apply these features at the beginning of your project and then make all your customizations inside HMA, instead of having to deal with compilers, tool chains, and C code.

How to Apply

You will need a completely unedited (clean) Pokemon FireRed Version 1.0

Step 1

Open your Pokemon FireRed Version 1.0 ROM in HMA

Step 2

Open the Utilities menu at the top of the program

Go to Misc

Click on Apply HUBOL DPE CFRU

NOTE: If this option is greyed-out, it’s because your ROM is not FireRed 1.0 or it has been previously modified, even if just slightly. HUBOL can only be patched to a clean FireRed 1.0 ROM
